What are the standard check-in and check-out times of the hotel?
The standard check-in time is 3pm and check-out is at 11am. Our Reception is manned 24hrs.
What is the best way to contact the Hotel?
You can call the Hotel directly on 02920 550750, email Reservations at email@example.com or use Whatsapp which is manned 24hrs a day on 07939 304107.
Is it possible to check-in earlier?
We offer an earlier check in from 12pm at an extra cost of £10 per hour. Otherwise you more than welcome to leave luggage with us when you arrive. You can also leave luggage with Reception after you check out.
Do you provide a service for late check-out?
After 11.30am, the charge for a late check out is £10 per hour up to a maximum of 3.30pm. You are welcome to leave luggage after check out if you wish.
Are pets allowed?
Unfortunately we don't accept pets at the Hotel, except guide dogs.
What is the smoking policy of the hotel?
All rooms are non-smoking. Smoking inside is not allowed in the UK. Guests found to be smoking in the Hotel are liable to a £150 fine and they will be asked to leave the Hotel.
Do you accept hen/stag parties?
Yes, the Hotel does accept groups like this - please contact Reservations for discounts on group bookings.
What are your disabled facilities?
We have disabled, step free access located at the Westgate Street entrance, CF10 1TL. Lifts are available in the Hotel to get guests to their bedrooms and we have double/twin/triple/deluxe disabled access rooms. Please note that the bathrooms are not wet rooms and have showers over a bath unit.
How do I use the promo code to get a 10% discount?
Enter croeso in the promotional code box either before starting the booking or after you have chosen your room type to give access to discounted rates.
Are baby cots available for the rooms?
Baby cots are available on request and cost £5 per night.
Can we add an extra bed to the room?
Unfortunately not, we do have Triple rooms that can accomodate three people and these can be set as either one double and one single bed or three singles.
What extras do you get in a "Deluxe room"?
Deluxe rooms are the largest rooms in the Hotel and include bathrobes, mineral water, a bottle of wine and a 50 inch TV. Some Deluxe rooms have sofas, but not all.
How can I make my stay extra special?

Is Wi-Fi available at the hotel?
Wifi is available in all rooms and public areas free of charge.
What is the free drink voucher about?
As a thank you for booking directly with the Hotel, we are happy to offer one free drink with each room booking. This is not per person as this would penalise guests who pay the same but are staying on their own as opposed to rooms with two or three people in them.
How do I cancel a booking?
Pre-paid reservations are non-refundable in the event of a cancellation, flexible bookings can be cancelled up to 12pm one day prior to arrival free of charge. Please note that any bookings made using an online travel agent (such as Booking.com or Hotels.com) can only be cancelled directly with them and not by the Hotel.
Where is breakfast served and at what times?
Full Breakfast and Continental Buffet is served in the Captain Scott Room, from 7am-10am on weekdays and 7.30-10.30am on weekends and bank holidays.
What are the dining options at the hotel?
Fitz Bar serves hot food and snacks from 5pm-9.30pm every day except Sunday. Cold snacks and drinks are available 24hrs for residents. Alternatively there is an Italian restaurant, Mia Porto Due which is across the road from the Hotel where you can dine and have the bill charged back to your room.
Is room service available?
Yes, room service is available 24hrs, with restrictions on hot food.
Where can I park?
The Hotel has an arrangement with NCP Westgate Street, CF10 1DZ which is just across the road and offers discounted parking rates of £16 per 24hrs. Simply collect a ticket from the barriers as you enter and bring to Reception to validate. (Please validate the ticket at the Hotel before collecting your car) Car parking is a one use discount - your car can not be taken in and out multiple times.
Please note that on event days, for major sporting events and concerts, road restrictions will be in place and will prevent access to the Hotel and NCP Westgate Street at certain times. Cardiff Council usually advise us of these closures a few days prior and we try to convey this information to guests, but if in doubt please contact the Hotel for more information.
How do I get to the hotel?
The Royal Hotel Cardiff is located in the centre of Cardiff, just 100 metres from Cardiff Central Station and 5 miles from the M4. Please see the locations/directions page for more details.
